Gerdau-Courtice Steel upgraded its [QMOS] system by commissioning new modules at the Cambridge facility

QII QMOS

Gerdau-Courtice has been using QMOS production and Roll Shop modules since 1998. Courtice Steel has added QMOS Scheduling and Control as well as Billet Yard modules in the year 2002

Gerdau-Courtice is a steel making and rolling facility specialized in the production of small shape products such as angles, flats, rounds and channels. The variety of the products produced in this facility exceeds several thousand. Deployment of the [QMOS] robust scheduling and billet allocating capability will greatly reduce the effort required to manage the scheduling of such an enormous amount of products.

The [QMOS] Bundling module is due to be commissioned in August and Production Scheduling in September 2002.
